Welcome to the Free Movie Monday post for December 17th. This movie is a fan film prequel to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy titled, The Hunt for Gollum. It is posted early to keep with the LOTR theme since the premier of The Hobbit is tonight at midnight. Fan films for multiple different franchises are available online and they’re usually free to watch. This particular fan film, which shares the same J.R.R. Tolkien source material as The Hobbit in the LOTR books, is on the high end of the spectrum of quality compared to many other fan films. This adaptation of the story details the search for the long-time possessor of the ring, Gollum, which is conducted by Aragorn and the wizard Gandalf the Grey.
