- Free after rewards (this is similar to Buy One Get One Free; however, this can be made in to a super free deal when opportunity allows it to be combined with coupons or rebates, see Office Max above)
- There’s a valid argument that “free after rebate” deals are not actually free if you have to pay sales tax, shipping and/or postage to request the rebate.
- Coupons or gift cards that aren’t valid for anything in the store at that price. Example: a coupon that says “$10 off a purchase of $10 or more” usually cannot be used on an item that is $9.99 and everything else would be priced at $12, $15, $20 or more. This may or may not be a good deal, but it is not actually free.
