Design Cafe Press T-Shirts For Passive Income With $0 Startup Fees

If you’re looking to make money online, one simple way to do that is to design and sell T-shirts.

A traditional printing business is not simple or free by any means. It can involve large start up fees for the T-shirt printer and other supplies. You might have to hire a graphic artist and employees to run the press. Then you’d have get customers, sell jobs, print the t-shirt and then deliver them. However, instead of doing all that, you could use other people’s resources and just partner with a printing company that is already in operation. This is one of the ways to start a passive income business with $0 startup fees.

For years I’ve been a member of Cafe Press. Cafe Press allows members to submit T-shirt designs. When one of my designs sells, I get a commission. Cafe Press does the work of selling the T-shirt, printing the T-shirt and delivering the T-shirt to the customer. They buy the ink, the overhead, the employees, the website design and maintenance and all the operational costs. All I do is submit designs. Once I do that I’m done. Any money that I make is completely passive. And since I can create designs by using free stock images and free software, that means that the money I make is actually free. A couple of resources for free stock images which can be used commercially are Pixabay and Pexels. An example of free image editing software is Sumo Paint. I’ve submitted 30 designs and I make about $75 a year. That may not sound like much, but when I calculate the total I’ve made on an hourly basis, I probably make more than a lot of CEOs and my per-hour rate only goes up and up. That’s because this income is completely passive. Again, once I submit the design, I don’t do anything else. Every year at Christmas I’m able to stretch that $75 into over $1,000 in Christmas gifts, but that’s the topic for other articles. In this article, the point is that passive income is actually free, and it’s especially free when the system for generating that income required $0 in startup costs.

There are others who make more than me by submitting more designs to Cafe Press and thus they increase their passive income. There are some who have submitted thousands of designs. Is it possible to make a living from Cafe Press alone? Maybe, maybe not. Yet, there are other ways to earn passive income. Some of these passive income businesses could produce enough to cover anyone’s lifestyle and living expenses, but more likely that level of passive income will be achieved through multiple streams of income.

That’s one of the wonders of passive income. It doesn’t take any of your time. So you can spend your time creating more sources of passive income.
