Electronics can technically mean any device that is powered by electricity. That includes electronic accessories, home and kitchen appliances, mobile devices, TVs, digital cameras, video game consoles, electronic instruments, and computers. They can be as simple as a flashlight, and range in price from $1 to thousands of dollars. However, the devices that you can get for free are more likely to be less than $100 or even under $20.

Be aware that “free electronics” offers are among the most common scams online because they have a broad consumer target and they are sought-after by consumers. Scam artists tend to leverage the popularity of iPhones, Cameras and TVs. One scheme that could be a scam or at least very hard to accomplish is titled Get A Free Gadget, which is potentially free but not necessarily practical or worth the effort. Electronics might be given away through community freebie resources, such as Craigslist, Freecycle, Dumpster Diving, Local Yard Sale Leftovers, and Local Retail Leftovers. eBay Lot Freebies is an arbitrage freebie strategy that can be used to get free electronics. This involves buy a “lot” of items on eBay, keeping or two items within the lot and the selling the remaining lot for same price that you bought it.
